The maroon-bellied conure is a vibrant and intelligent bird species native to South America. The maroon-bellied conure is named for its dark red, almost brown-ish, belly. However, the rest of its body is not maroon. Its breast is a yellow-green colour, and most of its body is covered in emerald green feathers. Some brown patches of feathers may be found here and there, and the tips of its wings are blue. Other distinctive maroon patches can only be found beneath its tail, where the colour blends into a mix of maroon and blue-purple.
