Find the seven stars located around the Zoo, learn about the Matariki constellation and go in the draw to WIN a family annual pass. One lucky winner drawn each week throughout Matariki.

Join us at the zoo to celebrate Matariki with your whaanau.

tHE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STARS (17 June-17 July)
Hamilton Gardens, Chartwell Room and Te Parapara Garden
7pm-9pm - Thursday 23 June, Thursday 30 June, Thursday 14 July
Presented by Maramataka expert and Tainui star lore specialist, Piripi Lambert. He shares his knowledge of Matariki, the traditions, stories and cultural practises significant to the Waikato. Followed by a walk to Te Parapara Garden (weather permitting).

MATARIKI AT THE MUSEUM (SATURDAY 9 JULY)
Waikato Museum is set to host a full day of free Matariki celebrations.Participate, listen, learn, watch, make and take something meaningful about Matariki away with you.
Tuu maaia, tuu kaha, e te tamaiti. Ngaa Whakatiinanatanga o ngoo maatua. Ngaa Whiikoitanga o ngoo tuupuna.
