Connect your students with nature
Schools Day - Thursday 6 April 2017
From farm land, Waiwhakareke Natural Heritage Park is now into its eleventh year of restoration back to native bush, like it once was.
This eco-system provides the perfect environment for our speakers to engage students from a variety of schools in memorable hands on activities and talks.
Hosted by Hamilton Zoo’s education team, this FREE annual event is open to students from Year 3 upwards.
Join us at Waiwhakareke Natural Heritage Park to see how organisations are working collaboratively to protect our native flora and fauna.
Students will venture through the bush, use their senses to identify plants, search for invertebrates and understand how everything is connected.
The day will begin at 10am and finish by 2pm.Stduents will be required to bring suitable clothing and lunch.
After feedback from teachers involved in previous years we have moved our 2017 event to Term 1. This will give students time throughout the year to build on the conservation messages they have learnt during this day.
Spaces are limited. To register please contact the Zoo Education Team firstname.lastname@example.org
